Many times authors and publishers prefer an audition casting instead of spending time going through our list of narrators to find a voice they may like. This saves them time.

SUMMARY

An incredible true story of Ruth "Kitty" Taquey, an American woman with an unbreakable spirit. After following her heart to Austria to be with her budding artist husband Victor Planckh, she found herself trying to live while war waged around her. She faced the Gestapo, American bombers, the Russian army in Vienna, starvation rations, and the loss of her two lovers during World War II. Through her Christian faith, her ability to speak fluently four languages, and her will to survive, Ruth managed to stay alive and even found love again after the war. This inspiring tale is a testament to the power of the human spirit and love to overcome even the toughest challenges.

“All the events you are about to read in this story actually occurred before, during, and after WW2 to the writer. Many of the events may not have happened exactly as a history book recorded the events, but the main points and the important points of the protagonist did occur as best as her memory can confirm. All the characters in this book existed and some went on to fame and fortune and others went on to obscurity. The writer, born in 1906, was a woman from a Main-Line Philadelphia, Pennsylvania address of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She grew up in an environment of white privilege, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant, Episcopalian, Republican, anti-FDR, anti-Communist, and anti-Nazi, but was married to an Austrian painter for 9 years and lived in Vienna, Austria until 1946.
